If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs

I've been formulating this stance over the past couple of weeks, I have been reading the forum and have tried to take onboard most people’s hopes, ideas and concerns and through this I have come to the conclusion that now is not the time to be losing our heads.

I've wrestled with some of my own worries about where the football club is heading and like many on here I have felt angry because from all the transfer reports and business that we have conducted this far and from the performances on the pitch (I have had to tell myself over and over its just pre-season) we seem to be a club in decline. Then when I made my peace with that I started to think am I just excepting mediocrity and I got angry again as Liverpool FC and mediocrity should never talked about in the same berth.

Then finally I realised I’m allowing myself to get caught up in media hype and other people’s speculation. I like reading other people’s opinions on the club as i think that it gives me a more rounded understanding of the club but sometimes you have to take these opinions at face value, Where does this idea that we are mediocre even come from? People are writing off the season already and we haven’t even had a league game. There are stark warnings from forum members about having to endure a frustrating season and being patient.... I agree with that concept and the new manager will need time coupled with our patience and support but in reality I haven’t seen anything yet that can substantiate those claims.

We are berating most of the players we are linked with before we have signed them, seen them play for us or seen how the manager will utilise them.

I'm sick of hearing the immortal line “He isn’t good enough for Liverpool” ... how the fuck do you know?

Some people on here are becoming hysterical because players are being linked away, Agger as the example here. He hasn’t gone anywhere yet and people are already using that as a stick to beat the owners and Rodgers with. If it does happen, how about we wait and see who replaces him before we go bat shit?

Basically, I have decided that the club has my support and I will draw my conclusions about our transfer dealings once the window has closed and I will do the same about Rodgers and our team once the season is over.
This whole situation reminds me of Y2K, the millennium bug. Loads of people going nuts over ideas that are based on rumours and then because newspapers and medias sources comment on it its treated as fact...... well how many people looked like bellends on January 1st 2000? I just keep thinking how many people are going to look like bellend’s on the 1st of September 2012.
