Blackburn hint at Duff move

Gerard Houllier has made clear his interest in the 24-year-old and may now move again with calls for the Reds to add width to their side reaching a crescendo. The Reds, of course, would face strong competition from newly crowned Premiership champions Manchester United.

Parkes said: "The player makes his mind up as well as the club and once a player makes his mind up to go, it can be difficult to hold on to him.

"There is a big difference between our club and the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United. Damien has grown up at Blackburn and he loves the club, but he is getting older and people will no doubt be saying things in his ear and asking him what he's doing at a club like Blackburn.

"Those things may sway his thoughts, but he's a top player and if clubs are interested and they want to pay a fair price, then there is every chance he'll move. If you get a good offer, then the players will leave. I think it's impossible to keep a player when he has the lure of playing in the Champions League for Manchester United."
