The injuries to Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun means Benitez is considering selecting Nathan Ecclestone, Daniel Pacheco and David Amoo for his first team squad.

Pacheco is becoming a regular on the subsitutes bench while Ecclestone has also made a couple of first team sub appearances this season. The current injury crisis means they could soon be getting more chances.

"It's difficult to manage when you lose three players with quality that normally start games but we cannot talk too much about them at the moment because they won't be available for a while, so we have to start working with the rest of the players," said the boss.

"We know Torres is a very important player for us but Ngog is doing well and we have some other options with Kuyt so we will see if we can manage.

"Amoo, Pacheco and Eccleston have been training with us this week. We know they have quality but when things are not going very well you have to be careful with the young players, so we have to support them and we will see.

"We have some good young players but we have to be careful with them and don't want to push them too early, but they have quality and maybe they can do a job for us.

"Amoo has been doing really well and he has pace. Eccleston and Pacheco also have quality."
