Smicer's rehabilitation continues

Smicer had knee surgery in the Summer to try and correct a long standing problem. There was an outside chance that he might never play football again but thankfully that is not the case and the player is set for a January return.

Smicer said: "My operation was ten weeks ago and I've been off crutches for the last two weeks. I now need to build up the muscle before I can start running. If all goes well I'll be running at the start of December and then playing again in January.
 
"It was a big operation and there was a possibility it wouldn't work out, but the medical people are all confident I'll be okay and be able to come back on schedule."
