Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed last week that the Welsh midfielder needs surgery, and he is likely to be out for up to three months when he finally goes under the knife.
The 23-year-old started for Liverpool in their 3-1 defeat to Southampton on Saturday but was substituted at half-time.
