The Swansea midfielder was in the stands during last night's Europea League victory over FC Gomel and is understood to have put in a transfer request after Liverpool bid the £15m necessary in order to invoke the release clause in his contract.
"It is imminent," confirmed Brendan Rodgers.
"The fact he was here shows there has been some communication with Swansea and we expect to conclude it in the next 24 hours."
