According to The Indy, the Reds are willing to swap Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini for Christian Benteke.
With the Belgian international refusing to sign a new deal and the Reds unwilling to meet the £32.5m release clause in his contract, the situation is currently at a stalemate.
But after signing Roberto Firmino last week, the need to chase Benteke has lessened, so Villa may be more open to negotiation.
