"I think its a great reward for the players," he said after the 3-0 win. "They played fantastic in the last game here against Arsenal and never got the result they deserved. The pperformance tonight got the result they deserved, and that was three points.
"All the local boys were fantastic for us. Stevie got a hat-trick which was magnificent, Jay Spearing was fantastic, Carra and Kelly at right-back.
"Obviously Stevie getting three goals was a great reward for him. He's had one or two bumps this year with injuries so to come back and get three in the local derby, I'm sure there will be a wee smile on his face.
"The quality is there for everyone to see. He's been a fantastic player for this football club throughout his whole career and he always will be."
