Kenny pleased with Reds performance against Spurs

"The most important thing for us was that we were really pleased with the way the team played," he said after the game. "They put them under a lot of pressure, they kept their own shape and purpose and determination. Like in every other game you just need a bounce of the ball to go your way.

"We've played all the top sides here, and Tottenham are a top side, and we've done very well against them so whether we think it was just or unjust, its irrelevent at the moment, but the most important thing is that we're pleased with the way everybody performed.

"Everybody deserves credit. Pepe didn't have much to do, but it was a good save for him (from Bale). He stood up well but everybody in the team made a contribution. That was Pepe's time to syand up and he did.

"I'd have been disappointed if we hadn't got anything from the game. I don't think the severest of critics would have said we deserved nothing.

"We're in a better position than we were last year. We're in a cup final and the fifth round of the FA Cup to look forward to.

"Like everyone else we'd like to convert more chances, but there's not another team that's constructed as many chances as we have I don't think, and there's not many teams that's lost as few goals as we have, so we're three quarters of the way there.

"I'm just concerned that they've not got the result they deserved tonight."
