Ticket information to see Liverpool FC v Borussia Dortmund will be released shortly and fans should check Liverpool’s website for further details.

Billy Hogan, Chief Commercial Officer, Liverpool FC said: “It has been over a decade since Borussia Dortmund played at Anfield so we are looking forward to welcoming them back.  This fixture promises an electric atmosphere as both teams get ready for the upcoming season and the possibility of meeting again in the Champions League.”

The Reds and BVB together have over 200 years of football history between them. Last season both teams finished second in their respective top-flight leagues and Dortmund holds a special place in the hearts of Liverpool fans since Signal Iduna Park recently came alive to the sound of 80,000 fans passionately singing You'll Never Walk Alone to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, an anthem that Borussia fans are known to sing at their home games.

Borussia Dortmund’s CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, said: “The match between Liverpool FC and Borussia Dortmund is the meeting of two teams that have a lot in common: a rich history, unique fans and a passionate style of football. We are honoured and very much looking forward to playing in this iconic stadium.”

This will be a fixture not to be missed as Liverpool FC gear up for the 2014/15 football season, marking their return to Champions League after a five year absence.
