Rodolfo Borrell’s youngsters finished second to Sporting Lisbon in the group stages.

"It should be a good game, we play against English teams week in, week out so hopefully that will put is in good stead," said captain Conor Coady.

"The competition has been a great learning curve for us. We've played against some top teams. All the teams have been different. Sporting Lisbon are fantastic and are a great footballing side. Wolfsburg and Molde were a bit more physical so it's been good to come up against different styles.

"I hope we still have a lot more to give. In the group stage we perhaps haven't shown what this Liverpool side can do, so hopefully we'll come out against Spurs and show everyone what we can do."

The others ties in the last eight of the inaugural tournament sees Barcelona take on Ajax, Aston Villa play Marseille and Sporting Lisbon take on Inter Milan.
