The IPCC has confirmed that the individuals were a mixture of retired and serving police officers, ahead of the sixth and final Hillsborough pre-inquest hearing which begins on Monday.

Following today's pre-inquest hearing the commission revealed it was in the process of interviewing the retired and serving officers under criminal caution for a range of offences including misconduct in public office, perverting the course of justice and manslaughter.
Four of the suspects are also being investigated by Operation Resolve, which is looking into the causes of the disaster.
