The squad last met with Tranmere Rovers in a pre-season friendly in 2008 and this return is set to be eagerly anticipated by Tranmere’s 15,000-strong crowd at Prenton Park.
Moving further north for the clash with Lancashire-side Fleetwood Town - the Reds last came across the Cod Army for a friendly in 2003.
Wigan Athletic will play Liverpool FC at the DW Stadium - the two teams have not met since their 2013 Premier League clash when the Reds won 4-0 with Luis Suarez scoring a hatrick.
To round off the Club’s UK pre-season friendlies, the team will head to West Yorkshire for an evening kick off with Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium – the first time the teams have met since the FA Cup Third Round in 1999.
Liverpool FC’s UK pre-season friendlies will become the perfect warm up to their summer training in California where they will compete in the International Champions Cup against Chelsea FC, AC Milan and finally FC Barcelona under the iconic arch at Wembley Stadium.
