The Daily Express rumour mill is in overdrive, with talk of a £47m tripe swoop for Chelsea keeper Petr Cech, Porto striker Jackson Martinez and Norwich winger Nathan Redmond.
While the chances of such a large transfer budget being given to Brendan Rodgers in January are slim, the talk of Petr Cech being linked with Liverpool is interesting.
Having been dropped in favour of Thibaut Courtois by Jose Mourinho, Cech has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Besiktas the latest club being mentioned.
However, increasing concerns about Simon Mignolet's form this season and the failed bid to sign Victor Valdes on a free last month mean that a possible attempt to bring in Cech may not be too far-fetched.
