"There's always going to be speculation around your job," the Liverpool boss said in the pre-Villa press conference. "You take that as part and parcel of the game.
"I have regular contact with the owners and the relationship has always been strong. Whatever happens here I'll always have huge respect for the owners.
"Whilst I'm here I want to fight for the club and the players. The players are an incredible bunch and work very hard.
"My belief and confidence is there and always has been, so I don't shy away from the fact that I need to get results.
"I want to ensure that I'm going to be here for a long period."
