"We're a top club, that doesn't change. It's enormous around the world, Liverpool, it's got great history.
"Players will want that challenge to come and play for Liverpool. I don't think the attraction of playing for Liverpool deteriorates.
"But of course players want to play and compete at the biggest level and its our job as a football club to try and challenge and try to get players who want and accept that challenge and can arrive back at that level."
