Germany international midfielder Lewis Holtby is considering offers from English clubs as his contract at Schalke nears expiry.
The 22-year-old - who has an English father and grew up supporting Everton - sees his current deal expire next summer and is free to sign a pre-contract deal from January.
Liverpool and Arsenal are known to be courting Holtby's signature and his agent Markus Noack has revealed that he has offers from the Premier League.
Quite why Liverpool would be looking to sign yet another midfielder is beyond us, particularly when we all know that top priority in January is a striker.
