Brendan Rodgers won't be given the cash to spend £20m on the out of favour striker in January, but a loan deal could be struck, with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Sturridge was linked with a move to Liverpool during the summer, but Rodgers appeared to be focussed on signing Clint Dempsey at the time - a move that we all know fell through because of lack of investment by FSG.
He is out of contract at the end of next season and Chelsea are apparently keen to cash in now.
