Liverpool have had a bid for the 23-year-old rejected but are monitoring his contract situation, claims the Daily Mail, who describe Pearce as 'the new Carra'.
Pearce is out of contract in the summer and the Mail claim the reason he has been dropped for the last seven games is because of his refusal to agree a new contract.
