The Reds striker is expected to return to first team training at the end of this week following hip surgery.
That's almost certainly too late to be in with a chance of playing some part in next weekend's Premier League clash against Manchester United.
However, he could return to action by the end of the month and will now be eligible to play in the Europa League game with FC Sion on 1 October.
