The Uruguayan forward scored two early goals in the first half and sealed his first hat-trick for Liverpool with a 45-yard lob of the Norwich keeper that must surely be named goal of the season.
The victory will give Kenny Dalglish's side a boost in confidence ahead of next Saturday's FA Cup Final against Chelsea.
