The Liverpool misfielder picked up a virus ahead of Wales' World Cup qualifier with Belgium on Friday and, although he is travelling to Belgrade today, Coleman won't take any risks.

“We have an obligation to Joe and Liverpool,” he said. “It will be a medical decision. I will liaise with the medical team

“But he didn’t look very good on Friday morning. He was in a bit of trouble.

“We will give him every chance because he’s such an important player. But you can’t risk players.

“I know Joe. If there was a chance of him playing, he would have — even if he was 60 or 70 per cent.”
