Breaking Bad

The timing couldn't have been worse this month. After a midweek trek to Russia to play Rubin Kazan in the Europa League, it was clear that several of the players were tired for last Sunday's Premier League game with Crystal Palace, and it showed.

Defeat to Palace, at home, put an end to the Klopp honeymoon period, but its times like that you need to bounce straight back. Unfortunately, that wasn't a possibility, with internationals taking centre stage for two weeks.

Internationals are bad enough at the best of times, with players coming back with niggling injuries, but the timing of this last set of fixtures isn't great.

We will have to be at our best for the trip to Man City on Saturday. Let's hope our lads can return to Melwood fully fit - with an injury list as long as your arm we certainly need them to. Jordan Henderson is on his way back to full fitness, but is unlikely to feature next Saturday. Jordan Rossiter might, though.

Now is the time for Jurgen Klopp to do what he does best - get the most out of the squad available to him. A win at City would be tremendous, but I'd be happy to come home with a point.
