Brentisms

The Liverpool boss has made some meaningless and confusing comments in the press recently. Here are just a few of the classics we've picked up over the last few weeks...

"Only in the dictionary does success come before work"

"If we win then we go into 2003 with a European competition to look forward to whereas at the moment you wonder whether the players have their minds on the Manchester United game. I hope they don't and I don't think they will but we have to adapt our minds."

"Either they want to add motivation to their team or they have a difficulty in disguising their fear."

"The best way to prepare for wins in the Premiership and the Champions League is to win every game you play."

Phil Thompson has also been chipping in with a few classic quotes of his own...

"We are not out of it and even if it did go wrong on Sunday, which it won't, we will still be in there fighting."

"This spell of disappointing results might well turn out to be a positive thing for us because it is bringing everyone together and has forced us to work even harder to turn things around."
