Bring on Spurs

The only unbeaten team in the English league. That’s such a good point I’ll make it again. Out of 93 clubs, we are the only ones who have not lost a game. Yes, we’ve only played ten games and only if we’re unbeaten after 20 odd should we start getting carried away but Liverpool have started the season badly and then spent the Winter playing catch-up so many times in recent years that an unbeaten start should be hyped up.

Not only are we unbeaten but we’re playing damn good football to accompany it. The draws against Newcastle, Blackburn, Birmingham and Basle have been annoying to say the least but at least we approached the games in the right way and entertained. Give me the 2-2 with Newcastle over the crappy 1-1 draws we had with Bolton and Southampton last season any day! Houllier is making the transition from a defensively minded team into a team that attack, attack, attack, attack, attacks! We’re bound to have a few hiccups on the way but overall you have to be impressed.

Our climb up the table last season was due to our amazing away form. Arsenal’s was exceptional which is why they had all the credit in the media, but our own away form was our best in a decade. If we’re to win the league this season we have to repeat that run of form. 4 wins and a draw from our first 5 away games isn’t a bad start. More of the same please.

Bring on Spurs!
