Liverpool FC - Weekly Review

Last updated : 30 October 2015 By Ben Green

Injuries, debuts and even a win to-boot. It's been quite a week. Let's take a look at the good, the bad and the quite ugly of game week 10.

The good gives us a double whammy this week as Jürgen Klopp and his men recorded their first win since his coming on board and trying to introduce his particular brand of footy. The 1-0 win over Bournemouth was well earned and, despite the score line, there were plenty positives to take from the game.  Notably debuts for Conor Randall Joao Teixeira and Cameron Brannagan made for a welcome change in fortunes after three successive draws.

Each of the debutants put in great performances to show that the club academy is still producing quality top level ready players. It's just a shame they've had to wait this long for the chance to shine. Teixeira was probably the stand out performer, but in reality both Brannagan and Randall put in equally impressive debuts and will go some way to easing the search for new players come January as the manager has three more than able recruits right there.

The bad this week has got to be the worsening injury problems among the first team. Physioroom.com currently lists eight Liverpool players out through injury. The latest being Kolo Touré in addition to Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson and Christian Benteke the most notable, among others. The latter of which Benteke should, all being well, be available for selection against Chelsea tomorrow. This is no wonder manager Klopp is seeking to revamp the conditioning regime in order to prevent the ongoing mucular injuries being suffered by his players.

Lastly we come to the ugly. Ugly. A word that the Oxford English Dictionary defines as: Unpleasant or repulsive, especially in appearance. This week, I honestly can't find anything that fits! So in place of that, I have a spoof video of "Brendan Rodgers" congratulating the team after the midweek win against Bournemouth...

Would you call the ex-managers infatuation with Joe Allen ugly? Actually not but the clip is worth a laugh in any case.
