Liverpool Football Club - Now serving prawn sandwiches?

It has been another dismal weekend, with a solitary point from a home game with Sunderland that we all expected to win.

I opened the Monday papers and checked out the football websites expecting to see an array of excuses by management and players alike, and I wasn't disappointed.

However, the official site chose today to announce the imminent opening of a restaurant above the club shop at the Kop end of Anfield.

The Boot Room Sports Cafewill open its doors on 14th October, and serve hungry fans top quality steaks, salads, pasta, pizza and more from 11am to 11pm, seven days a week.

"The Boot Room restaurant will provide the local community and visitors to the stadium with a unique, fun and family-orientated experience," said Christian Grall, Executive Head Chef.

"The food and service will be of the highest standards with some unique twists that will hopefully add a little theatre to guests' dining experience.

"There has long been a demand from fans for us to provide a restaurant facility open outside of match days at the ground and along with my newly recruited team I am very excited about the upcoming opening."

At a time when the 11 players on the field are looking like wet lettuces and the owners are making a pig's ear of the club, the launch of the new menu is going to be interesting.
