Liverpool v Hull City - Match Preview

Last updated : 25 October 2014 By Kurt Ellis

Although we are coming into this match off of footballing lesson from Real Madrid, but I must say I believe we played a lot better in the match than we have done of late. This will be our third game in six days, but we did spend over 100 million pounds to accommodate this kind of schedule.

We were lucky to get the win against QPR. We played with no passion in London. My concern however is that there seems to be a lot more off the pitch action than on the field fireworks from Balotelli. Shirt swapping at half time followed by a complaint at the police station in Manchester. I think it is time to give Balotelli a break and perhaps start with either or both Borini and Lambert.

Defensively, I would like to see the same back four starting against Real Madrid, but perhaps it is time to give Brad Jones a run in the team.

Hull are in decent form. They through away a win late against Arsenal and are only three points behind Liverpool on the table. They will be without Jelavic and Dawson, and they will be using a third choice goal keeper. Attackingly, they still have Abel Hernandez in their team, and he is a striker I rate. But that being said, this should be a win for us. It should be…

And our competitors…

West Ham are hosting Man City and the Manc should be too strong in this one. Southampton are hosting Stoke, but the Saints appear to be unstoppable. They should pick up the three points here. Arsenal are travelling to Sunderland and are looking a little shaky. After being humiliated by Southampton, I expect Poyet will get a response from his team at home. Perhaps more points dropped by the Gunners. Tottenham are hosting Newcastle and should get the win, but Everton are travelling to Burnley…and I think I see an upset in this match. And lastly, table toping Chelsea travel to Man United. I think Chelsea will be too strong in this one…but our result will determine who I am cheering for.
