Liverpool v Swansea - Match Preview

I said last week that I wouldn’t mind if we were knocked out of the FA Cup. I still believe that it is in our best interest and will benefit us in the long run. However, I must admit to spitting profanities while watching the game. I have no problem with being beaten. I do have a problem with being robbed. How Howard Webb can be regarding as the best referee in England is beyond me. I had never seen a more blatant penalty in my life that was not given. In my humble opinion, the LFC powers that be need to call the FA on this. Either Howard Webb is incompetent, or he is anti- Liverpool. You only have to look at the Eto’o tackle on Henderson and the Suarez penalty that should have been given in the Chelsea game.

And to those Arsenal fans cooing about revenge…well, congratulations on the win…but revenge? Seriously? A 2-1 win with the help of Webb is revenge for a 5-1 mauling? A 2-1 win that any person who watched the game knows you were lucky to get because of a combination of Webbinism and poor finishing from our side? This is revenge?

Well then, I guess revenge is served on a dirty plate, cold and by Howard Webb as your waitor.

So how do we beat them?

Now, that aside. Back to the business at hand. Swansea will be arriving at Anfield on Sunday after holding Napoli to a draw, which I believe is an impressive result for them. They have also found some form under their new coach, Garry Monk. A man Brendan Rodgers knows well. Two wins and a draw is a decent return in their last five, but Monk has not face a task as stern as the one awaiting him in Liverpool. Liverpool has the best home record in the league apart from Chelski (thanks to Andre Marriner) and I highly doubt if the Welsh team will enjoy the trip. I just hope we can keep a clean sheet.

And Our Competitors

Chelsea welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge…and this is it. The end of Mourinho’s unbeaten home record. Or in the very less, I see Everton coming away with a point. Chelsea have not been convincing for me. Scrapping by on lucky results and goals. Everton have been a revelation under Martinez and I think will have the confidence to put a dent in Chelski’s challenge. City and Arsenal should prove too tough for their opposition at home and collect all three points. I think Man United will drop more points at Palace, who will be tight defensively under Pulis. And I believe Spurs will stay three points behind Liverpool with a win against the Canaries.
