Proud of being a Liverpool supporter

I am proud to be a Liverpool supporter whether we are winning Champions League Finals or being knocked out of the FA Cup by Burnley etc.

Last night I was in the Kop and the support around the ground for our team was excellent start to finish. We were gracious in defeat applauded the Benfica team and rightly so and also the Benfica fans who provided magnificent support to their team. I ask how many other supporters would of been as receptive and gracious as ourselves.

In relation to our problems on the pitch, yes it is quite obvious we have some problems which other teams don't. But as long as any players wears the shirt of Liverpool he will have my 100% support (even Michael Owen if he comes back ). We all may winge about things as we did after the game last night but if the same team plays at Arsenal they will have my support as will the majority of the Liverpool supporters.

The majority of Liverpool supporters are like me, are proud like me, but it makes me sad in fact it makes me pissed off when people on here set up threads such the "Official get rid of Morientes" thread posted by Burtonred. FFS he is a Liverpool player! Okay he may not be playing well at the moment but to target him and to start such a thread to me is beyond belief? Morientes is Liverpool player at least until May so get behind him as with any of our players.

We have two months left of what has been a gruelling season after a season last year which went beyond expectations. This season we are still challenging for second place in the Premier League and in the quarters of the FA Cup, so still all to play for.

Nights like last night when in defeat we can sing, applaud the opposition and their fans is what makes me proud to be a Liverpool fan. We were mentioned in the press and on the TV all over the world for our support last night. That is what being a Liverpool fan is all about.

Those of you who start or agree with lets get players out threads? Well I will leave that to your own conscience.

Proud supporter of the Reds for 39 years (I know I dont look it as I was told last night in the Sandon before the game - you know who you are )
