Reds joins race for Dembele

Developing into one of the best young talents this season, the 19-year old, Pontoise born forward signed for the Cottagers back in 2012 from French Champions Paris St Germain, aged 16, after spending eight years in the French capital.

Unfortunately when Qatar Sport Investment bought the French side in 2011, super stars started to follow, leaving youngsters likes of Dembele with no chance of making the first team. They soon were sent packing.

He became a regular in the Fulham U18 team and won the Premier Academy League in his first season at Craven Cottage, before being promoted to the first team in 2014. This season he has scored 12 goals in 36 league appearances for a team struggling at the wrong end of the table. His contract is also due up in the summer.

Being a centre forward by trade, he can also play on both wings. At 6ft, he is good in the air and has blistering pace and power from his sweet left foot.

He was part of the France Under-19 squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2015 Euros, alongside Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, one of Dembele’s former youth teammates at PSG.

Bayern Munich, Everton, Manchester United, Tottenham, Wolfsburg and Monaco are also said to be interested in the teen sensation.

Despite this, Jürgen Klopp is a keen admirer of the starlet, although Dembele is said to been keen on a return to his homeland and Laurent Blanc’s side. Sources in France however, claim the German manager sees him as a perfect addition.
