Rodgers close to LFC exit: Reports

Last updated : 24 September 2015 By Ben Green

Graham "Beeky" Beecroft from Talksport claims the owners FSG are in urgent talks over the possibility of ending the Northern Irishman's three year reign at the helm of one of the world's most famous clubs. Beeky is a trusted source for Liverpool news and information having covered the north west club on TV and radio for what seems like an eternity. He was the first to conure the clubs signing of Christian Benteke, weeks before it was finally closed so, in my opinion he's more likely right than wrong.

Following an alarming slump in form after a relatively promising start to the season, culminating in last nights totally abysmal performance against League Two side Carlisle, it appears the proverbial writing is on the wall for Rodgers despite the eventual win on penalties.

Overall one cannot be surprised in view of the clear lack of improvement shown in the team's fortunes following a £70m spend and change of back room staff over the summer. The clubs owners now appear to have lost faith. It has to be said, Rodgers has been displaying the carachtetistics of a sacked manager for some time with his Insistance of fielding sub standard players and employing defeatist and negative tactics.

Rumours surfaced yesterday that Fenway were in talks with seasoned manager Carlo Ancelotti about replacing the beleaguered boss. A claim that was swiftly denied by the Boston based investors. As with most of these things, there's no smoke without fire to quote an old saying and Beeky seems to have confirmed fears or perhaps hopes, that harboured by many since the end of last season when the team suffered their worst draft in over 50 years in a 6-1 drubbing by Stoke.

Watch this space but it seems, as has been clear for a while, that there may well be a change at the top at Liverpool Football Club.
