Since signing Mohamed Salah last summer for an initial sum of €42m, the 25-year old has certainly proven his high price tag, becoming one of the Premier League’s top scoring players, working alongside goal machines Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino to reach the top of the list.

Currently, Salah is neck and neck with Tottenham’s Harry Kane for number of Premier League goals scored so far this season, sitting at 24. Whilst Kane has two assists to his name, Salah just has the edge with eight assists and a 60% rating for shots on target. Only slightly further down the list of top goal scorers this season is Firmino who holds 13 goals and seven assists whilst Mané has eight goals and five assists, making the Liverpool trio threat a reality for our opponents.

The number 11 has had some great highlights for his Liverpool career so far, including scoring on his Liverpool debut at Vicarage Road to draw with Watford 3-3. From a total of 38 appearances for the club across all competitions, The Pharaoh has managed to score 32 goals and with 28 of those appearances being in the Premier League, Salah has slipped 24 past Premiership goal keepers.

In August, Salah managed to score in the Champions League qualifier against Hoffenheim as well as back in the Premier League against Arsenal, earning him the title of Player of the Month by Liverpool supporters, gaining their admiration early on into his Liverpool career.

Within the following months Salah has also managed to score against Sevilla, Burnley, Leicester, Maribor, Tottenham, West Ham, Southampton, Stoke, Spartak Moscow, Porto, Bournemouth, Manchester City, West Brom and Huddersfield.

The Egyptian King has also became the joint-second fastest player to reach 20 Liverpool goals on only his 26th appearance. This record had been long standing for 123 years.

Salah has furthermore scored in the Merseyside derby and against his former club, Chelsea, proving there are very few teams in the league that can stop Liverpool’s first ever Egyptian player.

After scoring in last weekend’s Newcastle game, Mo Salah has now scored in seven consecutive games, another reason he has been selected by 60.8% of players on the official Premier League Fantasy Football app.

With Manchester United struggling for form, Salah could really help the Reds climb the table and hopefully secure at least a top four finish. Saturday’s fixture against Mourinho's men will be a tight and exciting clash – regardless of being a fans' favourite game of the season anyway! United may be mindful of their Champions League clash with Sevilla next week regarding the team they put out, but Liverpool will be sure to be up for the fight.

After this coming weekend, Liverpool still have Chelsea to play as well as bogey teams including Watford, Crystal Palace and Stoke but will have faced all the teams at the very top of the table, whilst United still face Manchester City and Arsenal in addition to their Champions League fixtures, making it interesting for Liverpool with their scoring trio all seemingly on good form.

Between United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool it is extremely tight at the top with only a few points between them so everything is to play for and all eyes will be on Salah to give the Reds the edge.
