South Americans, here they come...

...there are quite a few Brazilian's, Argentinians and the like that may be joining our club in the summer and there are even some that we haven't been linked with at all but who would you want to see at the club come September 1st?

We know for a fact that Rafa has stepped up his scouting networks in South America too so we are likely to see a few promising 'kids' arrive in the summer to complete the new 'Latino' feel the club has developed since Rafa's arrival!

It looks like Ronaldinho is definately leaving Barcelona and for anything under £20 million I would risk it, yes its a gamble but if it came off just imagine the possibilities!! He is only 28 and I think he just needs a change of scenery a new club and a new focus and you could see one of the deadliest footballers on the planet re-capture his not-so-long lost form! If we are interested we could have as much as a 50-50 chance of a move happening!

Kaka, my favourite non-LFC footballer could become available if Ronaldinho were to join AC Milan, if he goes there they may want to cash-in on Kaka but could we afford him? Probably not! If he left he would be Chelsea or Real Madrid bound surely? Unless, of course Barca cut a deal in exchange for Ronaldinho but why would they do that? If he signed for an English club and he could adapt to the league he would surely be the pick of all the Brazilians, a truly World-Class player and a welcome addition to any side in any league. The guy oozes class! Highly unlikely though.

Adriano, the big Brazilian is still IMHO one of the best strikers in the world, yes he has his problems but again a change in surroundings at Sao Paolo has sparked him back into life and he is currently enjoying his football again. Most of his problems could be attributed to the death of his father which co-incided with a dip in form, he started drinking and he also put on weight.
In 4 years at inter he scored 47 goals in 89 games. He has also scored 27 goals in 41 games for Brazil, not bad eh?

Maoro Zarate, if this kid would cost up to £18 million then surely that kind of cash would be better spent on someone like Sergio Aguero, he would surely be the better option? However Rafa rates him and has had him watched in the past, if Birmingham can't afford him or do a deal then maybe Rafa might be prepared to? He has 4 goals in 11 games for Birmingham City not a bad ratio for a 21 year old kid that doesn't speak English in a tough league. He also won the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, scoring the winning goal in the final against the Czech Republic where he played alongside Emilio Insua.

Maxi Rodriguez, Kewell is leaving this we know, Babel is surely better suited to being a striker so this guy could be the answer to our Left-sided problem. Not quite world-class but not fary away, actually. I for one would love to see the Argentinian at Anfield. The Atletico Madrid star is a close friend of Fernando Torres, his former team-mate in the Spanish capital. And Liverpool have 'apparently' spoken to Atletico about the 27-year-old? This one is the move that is most likely!

Marcelo Moreno, Jornal do Brasil are reporting that Rafa Benitez has approached Brazilian outfit Cruzeiro with regards to signing the Bolivian striker, reports suggest that Real Madrid and Ajax are also tracking the hitman who has netted seven in nine games this season. I've not heard of him before but apparently Rafa's got his eye on him!

Sadly the likes of Robinho, Messi, Aguero, Higuian, Gago and a few others have slipped from our Radar and they won't be going anywhere for a very, very long time!! Unless DIC take over and stump up a large amount of cash!

What does everyone think, are the talented South Americans just what we need to push our football to the next level or should we buy British instead?

Does anyone have any favourite South Americans, someone I've forgotten, to add to the list?
