That was the week then was it?

Anfield is always boisterous at the beginning of the game, the fans wanting to get right behind the players. However, ten minutes in and the ground is silent. Instead of attacking sides like Charlton and Man City who had come for a draw, we pass the ball around the centre circle as if we’re three up.

Saturday was very frustrating. City had about eight in defence and the keeper made some astonishing saves. However, hasn’t the manager realised that most sides now come to Anfield and play with everyone behind the ball? If so, it seems a waste to keep four defenders and Hamann behind the ball. Playing on the break is a luxury for the away team, home sides must go in search of goals.

We have about the best away record in the league and one of the worst home records. It is so obvious that we need more attacking players who can create chances that I’m sick of hearing myself say it. Hopefully our away form can win us the big one at the Bridge. Chelsea love beating us there but I’d still back Liverpool to win away against a team above them, than beat a relegated side at home.
