That Was The Week Then Was It?

This year we have 21 points from 9 games and are still second. So what will it take for Liverpool to beat Arsenal to the Premiership title?

Well, we could try beating them twice?

They did beat us pretty convincingly last year but we are good enough to beat them. However, they’ll need to drop a few points elsewhere.

What about their top striker going through a nine game dry spell?

Henry is arguably the best player in the Premiership right now. Apart from one notable cup final, he hasn’t had a bad game for about 2 years. That said, maybe he’s due a bad spell and that could certainly help us.

What if Vieira leaves or gets sent of 3 games in a row?

That could help but Arsenal’s midfield is pretty strong. Every time someone gets injured, they replace them with some random Brazilian who finds his form immediately.

At the back then?

Despite losing the old guard, the Arsenal defence has hit a pretty good run and unless they recall Oleg Luzhney, it looks like remaining solid.

You can’t tell me their keeper is any good?

No I can’t. This guy is our biggest hope. Ever since Didi Hamann hit the back of the net at Wembley a full 10 seconds before Seaman’s beer gut hit the floor, England’s No.1 has had his card marked. He is well past his best and only Arsenal’s success further up the pitch is keeping him from being totally exposed. However, a couple of timely lobs from distance could cost Wenger’s team 5 or 6 vital points.
