That Was The Week Then Was It?

Let’s also remember it’s one more than Manchester United, Newcastle, Everton and probably Chelsea will win. It’s easy to say the Worthington Cup is meaningless when you’ve been knocked out. What’s not so easy is for your star players, who have been lambasted all season to outplay a team who think they are the best in the world.

I’ve lost count of the people who on Friday told me Liverpool had no chance and that Giggs is the best player in the world. Today those same people now think Houllier is a great manager who out thought the ever gracious in defeat Ferguson.

It was a day for the fans who have remained loyal to the side. The spine of the team played brilliantly and even a player like Diouf who has hardly set the division alight, got stuck in and worked for the side. Liverpool still look like a team who want the title more desperately than anyone else. That’s a lot more than I can say for Beckham et all. Once Gerrard, Hamann and Murphy took hold of the game Keane, Veron and Beckham did not want to know at all.

Everybody blames the manager when we lose, so maybe we can give him the credit for this win.
