That was the week then was it?

Also, they have a new star and for the first time since I can remember, an England international.

I won’t be attending the game myself after increasingly unpleasant experiences over the past few meetings between the teams. I won’t go into details as to what happened as I don’t wish to paint Everton fans as mindless idiots. Every team has a following of morons and they all come out for the grudge matches. The newspapers and Sky don’t help as they love to build up the rivalry which they then naively call ‘friendly’.

Saturday’s result will have many ramifications. If Liverpool win, they will simultaneously move one place higher in the league (above Everton) and one step closer to Champions League football. Similarly, should Everton win, they will more than likely finish ahead of Liverpool in the league whilst at the same time end Liverpool’s season.

As with much of Liverpool’s season, the result is entirely unpredictable and anything could happen. I’m sure the central defensive partnering of Traore and Biscan fills many fans with trepidation. They could have the game of their lives, or we could get beaten 5-0.
