Time for Saudi investment in Liverpool FC?

Last updated : 18 February 2023 By Adam Bryant

Reports are surfacing that FSG are open to a minority investment in Liverpool Football Club.

The Mirror are claiming that members of the Saudi Arabian royal family are set to visit the UK to announce the deal.

This is backed up by a tweet from the Saudi club Al Nassr.

The 43-year-old Faisal, who is president of Al Nassr, is the grandson of the late Prince Sultan, who was the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia from 2005 to 2011.

Talk of investment from the Middle East has been going around for over a year now and, while FSG have invested in development of the stadium, they don't seem to be as keen to release funds for new players that the club need if they are to improve.

Maybe this gives a glimmer of hope that next season we will be able to challenge for the title and Champions League success with a strong squad of capable players.
