Transfer Deadline Day Looms

With only a week left to the final day, Klopp may decide to evaluate the current squad he has been given as well as other potential signings and interested parties.

Despite sitting at seventh in the league, Klopp may be an appealing element for Liverpool, with players deeming him to be a successful manager who can bring the club to greatness with his own personal touch. Many believe the signings which have been made before his arrival at Anfield have now been highlighted more than ever as not good enough for a club of Liverpool's stature.

Despite recently signing a contract extension, goalkeeper Simon Mignolet may be in hot water as Klopp’s rumoured to be interested in Genoa's Mattia Perin. Manchester United are also thought to be swayed by the Italian but Klopp may be more determined after Adam Bogdan’s recent string of errors, such as those in the Exeter game.

A potential loss to Liverpool could be midfielder Joe Allen, as Swansea continue to try and convince Liverpool to let him go on loan back to the Welsh side - an offer Liverpool have rejected so far. Allen was a Brendan Rogers favourite but has been performing well this season, so Klopp may be persuaded to keep him within the squad.

Despite only joining last summer, Christian Benteke may be facing the boot this summer after not starting many games, failing to outshine the youth players and frustrating fans with few finishes which result in the Reds falling further behind on goal difference.

Another hindrance for Liverpool’s front line is the continuous absence of Daniel Sturridge. Suggestions of placing the striker on a 'pay as you play' contract as the fear of further injury appears to keep him on the sidelines. An alternative may be to put the former Chelsea and Man City player up for sale, but will many clubs see the so called ‘sick note’ as value for money?

Another target for Liverpool is Brazilian Alex Teixeira who has hinted that he wishes to leave Shakhtar Donetsk, but Chelsea have also shown an interest in the striker.

As Liverpool continue to fail to finish many games with a positive score line, a new striker could be just what the squad needs to inject some goals and a few more wins for the club.
