Who ordered the Flair Player?

Let's say my reasons are both professional and personal; I want a change of scenery and a new challenge; there is a buzz about me at the moment and I want to cash in on it; I want to move up in the world to a club that has more status and ambition. What are my requirements from a club?

Well, first things first, the season has just ended, so; I want to move soon because I only have four weeks off. In that time I have to move my family, arrange for new schools for the kids maybe and get a new home near my new club. Not to mention thrashing out a contract, taking a medical and then and only then getting a week away in the sun before reporting for a punishing pre-season. With all this to do I am not going to wait around.

The measure of an ambitious club is a club that chases my signature, a club that makes strong moves for me before I have a chance to speak to other clubs and offers enough incentive to my current club so they will let me go. After all, I don't want to hang around, I've got too much to sort out and I do NOT want to be starting pre-season training with my current team in four weeks. I have asked my agent to put the word out that I am wanting away; the press mention one or two teams who are interested and one or two that interest me....one of them is Liverpool....I like the sound of that.

Speculation begins to build and I am getting restless. If I am going to move I need to get the ball rolling as soon as possible. I have read reports that Houllier admires my talents and inquired about me last season; I read that he thinks I am a quality player and he is always interested in quality players....surely it is just a matter of time now before Rick Parry gives my agent a call.

A week or so into the transfer window and business is hotting up; Due to the slump in the industry players are scrabbling for clubs like drowning sailors looking for space on a raft; My agent has heard nothing......then I read a report that doesn't seem to make sense. Gerard Houllier and Rick Parry, who have promised to bring in players who will 'put the Liverpool fans on the edge of their seat' have gone on Holiday for approx two weeks....having only signed Steve Finnan from Fulham.

This doesn't sound to me like a club who admire my talents and will chase my signature. If I am so important to their plans then why am I expected to wait and risk being here again next season? Oh....hang on....there's an inquiry from another club....

I could be Boumsong, Mexes, Kewell, Rivaldo or even Cisse....PLEASE have someone or something up your sleeve Mr Houllier, you're making me nervious..
