Alou Diarra moved to Bayern Munich from French second division side CS Louhans-Cuiseaux in the summer of 2000.
Impressive performances for the Reserve side led to Diarra being on the verges of the first team, and was a late inclusion (February) in Bayern's Champions League winning season of 2001.
Diarra was a member of the French U20 side that made it to the Quater-Finals of the World Youth Cup in 2001, where they lost to eventual winners Argentina.
No sooner had he arrived at Anfield than he was off on loan to Le Havre for the 2002/03 season. He spent 2003/04 at Bastia and is expected to find another French clup for the 2004/05 season.
