He can play anywhere across midfield, but is likely to figure on the left wing at Liverpool.
"Liverpool are in the Champions League, and of course are champions of Europe, but for me it's Benitez who is the biggest attraction," said the Dutchman at his pres conference.
"He is someone I'm keen to play for, and I think he will be taking this club places again."
Zenden left Liverpool for French side Marseille in 2007.
