Milan Baros

Milan Baros' move to Liverpool has been delayed for months as the Anfield club were forced to appeal to the Department of Employment and ducation for a work permit.

He has already proved himself on the World stage, becoming a regular in the Czech Republic squad.

He has only made one first team appearance in 2001/02, coming on from the bench in the Champions League game against Barcelona.

Baros became a fan favourite after several impressive performances and important goals in the 2002/03 season and finally Gerard Houllier began to notice his importance to the side.

However, a broken leg in Liverpool's game at Blackburn Rovers has ruled him out of most of the 2003/04 season.

He regained fitness in time for the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal, and earned the golden boot after scoring six goals in the tournament for the Czech Republic.

With the departure of Michael Owen to Real Madrid, Baros was given the chance to show what he can do at club level. However, his inconsistency has been frustrating at times, despite some good performances.
