In the first half there was a lot of passing with the ball and there were a lot of chances here and there but nobody had a really good chance worth while seeing. Liverpool didn't look very strong but they were playing safely.

In the second half both teams started to play a lot better but Southampton come out the best after scoring a penalty. I think that we could have done better up to now because we did have more possession but as the saying goes 'it's the goals that count'.
Later on in the game after Liverpool had a chance from Anelka who did well because he was also under pressure when he shot to the right hand top corner then the keeper just tipped it away and out for a corner.
After that there was a really big slip up and Riise scored an own goal after the ball coming from the end of the pitch then an cross came in and Riise who tried to clear the ball headed it into the back of his own goal.
After the game Phil was disappointed and thought we could have done a lot better and to be honest I think we could have done a lot better too.
