A place for Didi

With rumours of a move back to Germany and no movement on a new deal, the Liverpool boss has emphasised the importance of Hamann to the squad.

"I know that Hamann wants to play in Liverpool in the future," he said. "For us it's important to have two or three possibilities for each position.

"With Gerrard, Alonso and Hamann we have three players that can keep hold of the ball."
