The reserves beat Warrington Town 2-1 in the quarter finals of the Liverpool Senior Cup last night and after the game Gary Ablett said he was reasonably pleased with his team's performance.

"I thought we played okay and we showed a good attitude but I was disappointed we didn't score more goals as we created some good chances," the reserve coach told the club's official website.

"We were a bit impatient at times but to be fair we had a lot of the ball and made the most of it on a difficult bumpy pitch.

"The final score of 2-1 seems a lot closer than than the match actually was and it was a good test for some of the foreign boys to play in a game like this. It certainly tells you a lot more about your players."
