Ablett's side easily matched their United counterparts and had chances to win the game. After the match the reserve team coach was quick to praise his players.

"We started the game very poorly and didn't pass the ball as well as we can but we improved towards the end of the first half and with a little more luck could have scored," Ablett told the club's official website.

"We set out to stop United playing and the players absolutely ran their socks off for us and I'd like to thank our fitness coach Antonio Gomez for getting the players in this condition.

"In the second half we competed very well and Jack Hobbs did well in his first game back. We felt Nabil El Zhar had a perfectly good goal wrongly disallowed for off-side but overall it's a good sign that we are disappointed with a draw at United.

"The team is improving and the lads are working hard for each other and trying to do the things we want them to."
