Ablett suprise candidate for Reds vacancy

The former Liverpool defender and current youth team coach at Everton is the suprise candidate to take Paco Herrera's place working with the reserves after impressing in his role with the Blues.

Should Ablett make the switch it would be the second time he's crossed the Merseyside divide after Graeme Souness sold the player to Everton in 1991.

Herrera's role as chief scout has been filled by former Valencia coach Eduardo Macia.
