"It's been tough playing five full 90 minutes in such a short space of time. In my days we'd have complained and not turned up!" said the reserve team coach.
"But no, it's been a great experience. We've played against sides with different formations, from different countries and different cultures.
"The boys have behaved themselves impeccably and upheld the good name of Liverpool Football Club.
"It's my first piece of silverware as a manager and now we want to add another one by winning the northern division and then hopefully beating the southern champions."
